Freys Hotel****
Opening of Freys Hotel 1986
Since Freys Hyrverk was well known in Stockholm, Freys Hotel was introduced as a hotel with their own limousines. Our current general manager Annika Tell was in charge of the hotel from the start.
Freys open Hotel Lilla Rådmannen 1997
Freys Hotel opens Hotel Lilla Rådmannen and create an extension of the original hotel on Bryggargatan. With 36 rooms and a fantastic roof terrace next to the main shopping street, Freys Hotel Lilla Rådmannen quickly becomes a very appreciated hotel.
Freys removes all managing titles 1999
Freys becomes well known throughtout Sweden when they decide to try out an organisation without top managers. The co-workers were responsible for different parts of the hotel, and important decisions were taken through democratic processes. The phrase "To do a Freys" is coined.
Gold diploma at the Scandinavian Service and Quality Award 2004
Freys Hotel receives a diploma for the best result in a poll where guests reviews and experiences from the hotel were taken in consideration. An honorary mention is received for our work from a staff perspective.
Freys Hotel is one of Scandinavia's most inspiring places 2007
On the exhibition TUR, the largest fair in Scandinavia for travel, tourism and conferences, Freys Hotel is prized for being one of the ten most inspiring places 2007.
Freys open Hotel Bakfickan 2009
In Februari 2009 Freys Hotel open yet another hotel, Hotel Bakfickan, a two star complement to our existing hotels. With a central location and the same familiar feeling from our existing hotels, the new hotel is a welcomed complement in Stockholm.
Total refurbishing of the hotels 2010
To meet the future, both Freys Hotel and Hotel Lilla Rådmannen are completely renovated and refurbished in 2010. The upgrade involves piping, walls, furniture and fabrics as well as electronic equippment.
Freys Hotel receives an award from Tripadvisor 2011
Freys Hotel receives a Certificate of Excellence from the Tripadvisor, the site where travellers can write reviews of the hotels they visit. The certificate is given after positive reviews of the hotel on the site.
Vår historia
The story of Freys started over one hundred years ago. It was in the year 1896 that the company started transporting people in Stockholm by horse and carriage under the name Freys Hyrverk.
The name
The name Freys derives from a very famous race horse that 1895 won a long distance race between the cities Stockholm and Jönköping.
The first automobile
Freys Hyrverk bought its first car in 1906. The owners were critical to the car as a means of transport, since the first automobiles were dirty, loud and too weak for the hills in Stockholm. This would soon change...
Nobel Prize banquet
Freys Hyrverk had the honorable mission of transporting the nobel prize winners the very first banquet 1901. The is a commitment they still have today.

Freys Hyrverk was divided at the start of the 1990's. Limousineaktiebolaget Hyrverk 1 is the company that take care of transporting many of our customers today. With the roots firmly set in the rich history of Freys Hyrverk, they continue to strive for excellence in every aspect.
